About lazypaste

lazypaste is the laziest way to move text between devices. No sign-up, no install, no pairing. Open a clip, paste, and read it anywhere by typing a two-word code like fox-lamp. Your browser remembers the last clip you opened, so coming back is just opening the site.

How long do clips last?

Every clip is deleted 24 hours after the last paste, or 7 days if you switch on Keep 7 days. Each clip keeps its 20 most recent pastes. Text pastes can be up to 100 KB; files and images up to 10 MB each, and they are deleted along with the clip.

Is it private?

Codes are short on purpose so they are easy to type. That means anyone who knows or guesses a code can read the clip. Treat it like a sticky note on a shared desk: fine for links and snippets, not for passwords or anything sensitive.

Adding a PIN

Any clip can have a 4 to 8 digit PIN. Once set, every device has to enter it once before it can read or paste, and it stays unlocked on that browser for 30 days. Changing or removing the PIN logs every device out. Guesses are heavily rate limited, but a PIN is a lock on a shared desk drawer, not a vault.

Your own code

Instead of a random two-word code you can pick your own, like your name, if nobody has it. Shorter and more obvious codes are easier for others to guess, so use that for convenience, not privacy.

Switching clips

Use the Switch clip link at the top of any clip to forget it on this browser and open or start another.

Phone tips

Add lazypaste to your home screen and it shows up in the Android share sheet. Share any text to it and a clip opens with that text already inside.
